Getting started

Connect your call recorder, and every call files itself.

Connect the recorder you already use, once. After each call nicefig reads the whole transcript, works out which client it was about, and puts the new work and the updates on that client's board for you to approve.

Three steps, once.

About two minutes, once.

  1. Get a key from your recorderIt is a long code in your recorder's settings that lets nicefig read your calls. Where to find it is further down.
  2. Paste it into nicefigOpen Settings, then Connected apps, and press Connect next to your recorder. nicefig tries the key straight away.
  3. Record your calls as usualnicefig reads your calls from the last week first, then each new call within minutes of it ending.

What happens after each call.

The same as when you paste in a call yourself.

It works out whose call it was

From who was invited and who spoke. When one of your boards clearly matches, the call goes straight there.

The first few times, it asks you

Calls it cannot place wait in Notifications, under Meetings. Choose the board and tick the people or company to remember. Next time it knows.

Then it reads the whole transcript

New work becomes a fig. Updates go onto the fig they belong to, with the words they came from and who said them.

You approve what it found

Everything waits in To look at, like anything else you send in. Very short calls wait for you to choose before they are read.

Where to find your key.

Find yours below. Each one takes a minute.

Every Fathom plan, free included

Fathom

  1. In Fathom, open Settings, then API Access.
  2. Press Generate API key and copy it.
  3. In nicefig, open Settings, Connected apps, press Connect next to Fathom, and paste it.

nicefig sets up instant delivery with Fathom for you, so each call arrives about a minute after it ends.

Calls shared with youFathom lets nicefig read the calls you recorded and the ones colleagues shared with you, the same calls you can open in Fathom.
Every Fireflies plan

Fireflies

  1. In Fireflies, open Integrations, then Fireflies API, and copy your API key.
  2. In nicefig, open Settings, Connected apps, press Connect next to Fireflies, and paste it.

nicefig checks Fireflies every hour, because the free Fireflies plan allows only a few requests a day. To get each call within minutes:

  2. In Fireflies, open Integrations, then Webhooks. Paste both, tick meeting.transcribed, and save.

Names in the transcriptTurn on speaker tags in Granola and the transcript names who said what. nicefig uses those names to tell whose call it was.
Read AI, Circleback, Zapier, Make

Any recorder that sends webhooks

  1. In nicefig, open Settings, Connected apps, and press Connect next to Another recorder. Press Make my address and copy it.
  2. Read AI: open Integrations, then Webhooks, create a webhook and paste the address.
  3. Circleback: open Automations, create one, choose Send webhook request, paste the address and include the transcript.
  4. Zapier or Make: add a webhook step that posts the transcript to the address.

If your recorder shows a signing secret, paste it into nicefig when you make the address. nicefig then accepts only calls signed with it.

Include the transcriptnicefig reads what the recorder sends. A full transcript gives it the most to work with; a summary alone has already decided what mattered.
Otter, Zoom, Teams, Google Meet

Recorders that email you the notes

These keep your calls to themselves, and email you the notes after each call instead. Forward those emails to your nicefig address, once, with a filter, and each call is filed the same way. How to forward your email.

Turn the email onIn Otter and Zoom, check that the summary email after each call is switched on, and sent to you.

Questions people ask.

What happens to my calls?

Each transcript is read and kept on your board, next to the work it changed. The AI that reads it keeps none of it and never trains on it, and only the people on your board can see it. More on your data.

Is my key safe?

nicefig stores it encrypted and uses it for one thing: reading your calls. The page shows only its last four characters. Disconnecting deletes it, and you can also revoke it in your recorder at any time.

Which calls does it read?

The calls your recorder lets you open: the last week's when you connect, then every new one. To go further back, press Look back a month under Notifications, Meetings. Older calls are listed there for you to choose from, so nothing you already pasted is read twice.

Could a call land on the wrong client's board?

A call goes to a board by itself only when exactly one of your boards matches the people in it. Every other call waits for you to choose, and your choice teaches nicefig for next time.

A colleague records the same calls. Will they arrive twice?

Each of you connects your own recorder. When you both recorded a call, the board reads it once.

It says my recorder stopped working.

Usually the key was revoked or replaced in the recorder. Make a new key there, then press Replace key in nicefig. Calls from the gap arrive with the next check.

How do I stop it?

Open Settings, Connected apps, and press Disconnect. New calls stop arriving. Calls already on your boards stay where they are.
