nicefig and Fireflies

Fireflies action items, on one board that keeps itself up to date.

Fireflies records the meeting and emails a recap. nicefig puts each action item on the work it belongs to, and adds the emails that follow to the same fig.

What Fireflies does well.

It joins your meetings

Fireflies joins calls from your calendar, records them and writes the transcript.

You choose the recap

The recap email can carry action items, notes, an overview and key highlights, with a link to the full notes.

You choose who gets it

Everyone on the invite, your own team, or only you.

How Fireflies's notes reach your board.

Connected, by itself

  1. In Fireflies, open Integrations, then Fireflies API, and copy your API key.
  2. In nicefig, paste it under Settings, Connected apps. Step by step.
  3. Each meeting arrives with its full transcript and is filed to the client it is about: within the hour, or within minutes with instant delivery switched on.

Or from your inbox

  1. In Fireflies, under Settings, set Send email recap to to include you, and add Action items and Notes to what it includes.
  2. Forward the Fireflies emails to your nicefig address with one Gmail or Outlook filter. How to set up forwarding.
  3. Each recap is read against your board and filed to the client it is about.

By hand, any time

  1. Open the meeting in Fireflies and copy the transcript, or download it as a text file.
  2. Paste it, or drop the file, into Add to board in nicefig.
  3. A full transcript finds more than a recap, because the recap has already decided what mattered.

The email that follows the call lands on the same fig.

This is the part nicefig adds.

Monday, Fireflies's notes

From the callAction items: "Add a price list to the website."

nicefig suggests a new fig on that client's board: "Add a price list to the website", with the call as its source.

Thursday, by email

From the client"It should be green, not orange, and leave out the health check packages."

Nobody named the task. nicefig recognises this as an update to Monday's fig and suggests two steps and a note, with the email as the source.

Each Fireflies recap is its own list.

Fireflies gives every meeting its own recap and action items, and can send them on to other tools. When a client changes something by email three days later, nothing joins that email to the item from the meeting. nicefig reads every meeting and every email against the work already on your board, so the change goes onto the fig it belongs to.

Questions people ask.

Do I need to stop using Fireflies?

No. Fireflies records and writes the recap. nicefig reads the recap, or the transcript, and keeps the work up to date across meetings and emails.

Does nicefig record my meetings?

No. It reads what your recorder produces, and anything else you send it: email, files, photos and voice notes.

Should the recap go only to me?

That is up to you and your clients. For nicefig, only your own copy matters: it is the one you forward.

What happens to a meeting about two clients?

Each piece of work goes to the board it belongs to. Anything nicefig cannot place waits for you to choose.
